Ahh!! The water may just be 'salty' it is presumably fresh water which has become salty to taste after running over salty decks and other areas. You may want to see where it is coming from. Dry all the surfaces you can and then examine for water runs, use talcum powder or similar so you can see where it has run, try to examine the underneath of as many 'through the deck fittings' as you can etc.
