I'm not normally in the habit of plugging other peoples wares on this forum, but yesterday I received a mail shot from one of the cruise discounters with the following offer:-

7/12/03 - 12 night Canaries cruise
Outside cabin - was £2979, now £599 saving £2380

That's a massive 80% discount.

Admittedly it's on Aurora but I'm sure it'll all be cleaned up by then.

I think HE'S right Artie. My son in law and his wife have just gone on this Aurora cruise for a total of £599 each (last minute booking), instead of £2979, that's around 80% off the original brochure price. They've just phoned us rounding Calshot, it's evidently jam packed full, so nobody seems to have been put off by the infamous bug!!

Not a bad deal, and outdoes the 45% we got off a Caribbean cruise on their Oceana, leaving Barbados on 2nd january!

Cheers

Mike N.

I dunno what the fuss is about. The Norwalk virus has been going around cruise ships for a couple of years now. We went on a Caribbean cruise last year and they were taking precautions then, even down to the Captain refusing to shake hands with any passengers. Even so, we both caught the bug and distinctly unpleasant it is too
I think P & O have just been unlucky that the newspapers picked up the story
