That time of year again.

I don't recall seeing any at Felixstowe Ferry - would be handy if there are some hidden somewhere there!

There used to be a set of posts at Orford sailing club, anyone know if they are still there?
I expect John White is the man to contact for info. I think they must have sunk over the years though.

Waldringfield Sailing Club always had a well used pair of posts on the beach just upriver of their clubhouse, I don't know if they're still there. There is a disreputable looking pair of posts just downriver from the Royal Concrete in Burnham, but in 26 years living in the town, I have never seen them in use - I assume they belong to the RCYC.

Peter.

Thanks. Did not know they could be used by non members.

One more for the Orwell. With my apparent faceless grandaughter.
The posts are quite a way apart but this is the choice one for smaller yachts. There is a caption close by with a contact phone number to book. I have fairly recently dried out in the mud on the newish pontoon hammerhead at Pin MIll. It was the same phone number for permission.

You can't beat Medway Yacht Club's scrubbing trolley for getting the mucky process over and done with in an hour.

Currently priced at £145.50 for unlimited annual use, the proceeds of which disappear into the clubs large melting pot of hopes, dreams and good intentions.

I'd scrub every 4-6 weeks from May-October so good value to me.

Medway Yacht Club have a scrubbing trolley.
Hoo Ness Yacht Club have 2 scrubbing pads.

It used to be possible to moor in the creek at Queenborough to scrub in one are as there was a gravel bottom.

There may be some I do not know of on the Medway.

Just above the Strood arch of Rochester Bridge is a long wall with timber fendering outside where the Council Offices used to be (now a big pile of aggregate waiting to be built on).
In the past it was frequently used by all sorts of craft including yachts to dry out .A campshed extends out some way. The local fishermen also used it.
Peel Ports have used it as temporary berth to dump abandoned craft in the recent past.
My father used it to dry out a small steel workboat and scrub off.
