Re: OK all you clever financial people..

Been trying for two years to find suitable management and have failed dismally. How about I offer my property portfolio to the forum to run... come to think of it, nah, you lot would never settle on a solution to an issue (too many Cook's...)

As Nike say Just do it !!
Rent out the house on a short term lease ( 6 months) giving you time to sell. Advertise for crew on the web i'm sure someone is just waiting for this kind of this kind of experience and divorce the SWMBO on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour. Sail into the sunset and live you dream.

Fair winds and good luck

Re: jimi..

Well I've just lost Stingo's ex over the side (real reason she's not going is that he could'nt give her an adequate portion) and I'm returning spilling and filling the main and mizzen, all by myself I might add, and have loosened the halyard on the jib ready to dump it and scoop her out the water, at which point I'll haul in the halyard and deposit her back on board over the guard rail. Good plan do'nt you think?

Re: jimi..

i'd leave her in the water
that halyard may not be strong enough

Walk on Walk on with hope in your heart etc.

I don't know how to get around your finacial shortfall. Every investment you look at at the moment is crap. If you were hoping to live on interest at the moment you'd need a big pot of cash. You might just have to blow some capital. Work might come along as you go I suppose.

You've cleared the decks on all other fronts though haven't you.

Thanks Squidge. Am doing as you say.

Re: jimi..

Halyard would be strong enough, but why get it wet in the first place? Yeh, so leave her in the water.

Re: Walk on Walk on with hope in your heart etc.

Every day brings its answers and today brought a whole new set that I hadn't foreseen. Touch wood, this solution will stick and I am off as planned (but single-handed; heard too many tales of incompatable crew) before the end of March.
