This is really frustrating. Ahhrgg. I don't recall having a day like today.

Today was the day that I received an email from SWMBO telling me where to shove it. So I am a single-handed again.

Today was the day that I unsuccessfully tried to find a new venue for my farewell bash because the pub that took the original booking decided that they no longer do private functions on a Saturday evening.

Today was the day that the agent selling my property said that I need to drop my price. It was them that set it in the first place!

Today was the day that I realised that if I don't sell my property at close to the asking price, I can't go cruising because I won't have enough money to support myself.

Today was the day that I realised that I have to postpone my departure and from the end of March I no longer have a berth for Stingo because I gave the marina notice and there's nowhere else to go that is practical.

Today is that kind of day when you thank God (even if you're not religious) that there is only 1 hour and 16 minutes left of it.

I've finished whinging now

Re: That kind of day.sympathy

It is written that into each & every life a little rain must fall.

Sometimes it seems that it's really pissing down doesn't it ?

Look forward, there's nothing U can do about the past, I know, i've been there, & so have U.

Best wishes.

It's a well known fact, Stingo, that every silver lining has a cloud. You don't think the god of summers was going to let you just go off cruising without testing you first?

At least he's rid of the swmbo which means that he doesn't have to waste money buying her any drinks at the going away bash, AND there's a significant saving on expensive wet weather gear.

Thanks for the encouragement. It wasn't all bad but I decided not to tell you about the good parts.

That was also the day that a good friends wife decided that I was the one that should provide her with that little excitement in her life. Was easy to say no because she has a fat arse and of course he is still a good friend

Good point tcm, she did have a nasty little taste for the expensive stuff in life - fashion before function.

Got a PM I thought I'd share with you

So you're single-handed again. In more ways than one?

Re: aaah but

you are shut of swmbo.

you have a boat.

there is an old saying in the med

am man who has a boat has no need of a wife.

you can hold a farewell bash anywhere anytime

the marina IS a bugger. and i would sell the house at the best price you can get and make the money uplater. don't let it stop you leaving.

good luck and chin up.

<<i would sell the house at the best price you can get and make the money up later>>

There is more than one house and if you multiply a £ n0 000-00 drop per house and then work out the loss in interest per annum that WAS my cruising kitty.... you asleep yet?

Any one got some clever trick up their sleeve that I might like to hear about?

Re: The God of Summers

Hasn't the God of summers been laughing at the English for the past 2 000 years? Well maybe at the Romans first, and then the English.

Excuses..

your just looking for an excuse not to go .. the thought of the Solent in the summer is so appealing, you can't bear to depart to the warm wastes of foreign climes

Re: OK all you clever financial people..

sorry
you original post said property singular and did not mention portfolio.
well looks like you are thwarted. You should offer your boat to the forum and allow someone to do the cruise on your behalf. The successful applicant will be bound to send regular updates.

still my advice is if market is falling and you need shut.
get out now or you could be solent locked for a while.
