I was ambling down the Hamble today, it was busy!!!
Their was a wayfarer type sailing boat tacking down the channel, Their were about 5 persons on board, all wearing life jackets, I was heading towards Southampton water and he could see that there was a lit of boats coming up the river, The nice thing was he sailed to the side of the river and proceeded to sail strait down wind alone the edge of the Hamble therefore giving me all the room that I needed to pass him safely.
Once we were passed. He resumed tacking; I thanked him loudly for his courtesy. I have been missed before only by inches by similar boats before, one case I had stopped and had to put full reverse to get out the way.
So thank you again You made my day.
