That's a bit unfair.
He wasn't off "sulking" as you put it. He was off looking to see if he could find an old but useable sextant to sell me, as the "wanted" forum is not having much joy at present.

As I said in a later posting on the same subject --- what started as a mickey take with the intention to instigate a little light banter ended with some very nasty types foaming at the mouth --- nice friendly forum!
 
Yes Brendan .... you're right of course! I had thought there were a few small pleasures left in life though ... obviously I was wrong .... sailing's the only pleasure left! Ho-hum.

Sadly it doesn't take much to get some of the "old sea dogs" a bit rabid. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Don't let it put you off tho', just be aware of the lunar cycle and its effects....... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

BTW any joy with the sextant?
