I think we made the right choice and left the boat on the rack. Looks like a miserable day out, but a good test of boat and crew :)

Since you left the boat on shore overnight are you suprised that you got charged, it is a marina after all

Great to see you over the weekend Steve, can't believe you raided Fairways drinks supply when we wasn't even flying the correct flag!! ;)

hi paul ...great to see you n yours also.......RAID THE DRINKS LOCKER ???!!!!!! WHO ??!!! MEEEEEEEEE ??????????????............i know nothing .......im from barcelona !!

Well you made me feel better that I made the right decision to stay at home and get some decorating done instead, but wished it was like the last bank holiday.

Good to see the S24 coping well.

Hi Steve

Saw Thanks Mum on Sunday motoring round to A pontoon at Mercury, I think you were saying hello to a chap on a Swift trawler. Next time you are around you must come and say hello, we are easy to see, first boat on c pontoon!

We got as far as Beaulieu on Saturday, but a rough as anything & with our scottish terrier with us playing Torvill & dean on the wheelhouse floor we decided enough was enough and came back to Mercury Saturday pm. Good effort getting to Cowes... it never fails to amaze me how young kids always fall asleep when ever we have any on board... glade to see its not just me that has a soporific effect!

Oh, and quote of the day for me is your."..its deader than a dead thing on national dead day... "... excellent! :)

I'll watch the vids later.. we were planning a trip from Portsmouth to Weymouth in the rib, took the decision not to bother on Friday and drove down Saturday instead.. was very glad I checked Google traffic before heading off, from Fleet to Weymouth looked horrible so we took the scenic cross country route, hardly any traffic and a great drive only took 2.5 hours :D

I like your vids Steve, especially when you identify the often talked about locations around the Solent, and they sound like they are being narrated by Michael Caine :)

In the first one, I was wondering how the seal between the top edge of the windscreen and the clear plastic was going to cope with the wind driven spray.

Tell me about it. We've had a whole week of :(

Oh hang on, I remember now. As soon as everyone left on Monday night the clouds parted and sunshine was the order of the day. In fact at anchor in Alum Bay on Thursday we really caught the sun. Face and arms are still a bit sore - like you all care ;)

Sun streaming through the saloon window as I watch a couple of cruise ships returning past the Bramble Bank en route to turfing out their cargo in readiness for some fresh souls in the afternoon.

To be fair there is a slight build up of cloud starting - but of course, it's the weekend. We managed to re-arrange things to stay down for the week and it has been stunning.

I'm sensing a slight hostility from you all now so I shall get my shorts and depart.......

Keep smiling.

Henry :)

hi AndieMac......i have been called a million million different names over the years(mostly abusive), but have NEVER EVER been called Michael Caine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...............as far as the canopy goes, there is a 2"ish overlap over the windsreen frame where the "poppers" are which pull the canopy fairly tight onto the frame.....touch wood its not leaked YET!......thanks for your interest in the tales of Thanks Mum. if you are really bored over that side of the world, there are a few more of our videos on this forum. just look for Thanks Mum in any of the titles..it was me on the F42 southampton to brixham, also on this link.....regards steve.. http://sealineforum.motion-forum.net/f12-captains-blog

Yes you 'half cup full' blokes are all the same, getting sunburnt, riding out a gale and still finding something positive to say.

Well I hope the bait on your fishing line shrivells up and falls off.....

Signed Mr. Grumpy...:p:D
