I wanted to start a separate thread to thank Jeremy and Nick from boats.co.uk for sorting out our dead engine issue.

I thanked them on my original thread but it was tucked away amongst the other posts and felt it deserved better recognition.

Thanks to you both we are back running and currently at anchor in Cala Mondrago.

This forum is brilliant, thanks to everyone who replied but especially Nick and Jeremy.

Cheers

Martyn

And a nice guy as well! It was the first time I have met Nick although we had previously spoken in the phone.

Very easy to see why the Barke brothers and their business are highly regarded.

Throttle not engaging neutral. We tried this many times yesterday - in fact it was the first thing I thought of - but Nick clearly had the necessary touch to do it right!

Nick, also Pete, and the BCU team in Cala d'or are awesome. I once arrived in Cala d'or at start of holiday, berthing under yacht club, with my brother's boat following and about 18 people between us. Nick help us berth and we asked him to point to the biggest supermarket. He did and he said "you'll be needing this" as he handed us the keys to the BCU ford galaxy parked right there.

We got 1/2tonne of food and next day we had the chicken tikka masala raft up in Cala gran next door to Cala d'or . You can spot the Nick and spot the Barkes in this pic :D

These are the types of people who need recommending and more potential customers knocking on their doors, good service and a warm reception often means a lot to many people.

I agree. BCU also known as the Barke Bros are looking for brokerage boats at the moment, from mine & many others experience on here, if you are thinking of selling or upgrading its the place to go.

Agree. I believe that sold out new build slots are resulting in decent csecond hand sales. Their email shot seemed to favour boats in the 40-60 foot range. Given they are probably one of the very few who take px on brokerage boats it would make them quite attractive to a seller and buyer

Although I haven't ever done a deal with them directly we always say hello at the boat shows. They will always go the extra mile to try and make a deal work.

A mate of mine has just bought a rather lovely Princess S65 through them and by all accounts the process was smooth with them taking his old boat back in. He was also singing the praises of their guardianage service. They step off the boat and when they return next time it's spotless, laundry done etc. As a busy guy that makes his ownership experience an enjoyable one.

Henry :)

I bought my current boat from them.

Dan and Darren at the Essex site where first class. Put up with my constant questions and we had a good laugh along the way.

Can’t recommend them highly enough. I’ll be going back for the next one :)

are these the same people who are down the hill from me at Salterns Marina here in Poole and looking after the Princess sales?
