Quite separately from the break-down thread I want to thank Martin and his son James.
They shovelled down their dinner, drove over to Val Wyatt, brought their boat down to Shiplake Lock.........and towed me back to T&K. James' boat handling skills were exceptional, especially at his age. You were pretty spectacular, young man.
We arrived at T&K about 8.45pm and they then set off in the remains of the daylight to go all the way back to Val Wyatt.
Apart from being completely humbled by their kindness and support, I'm embarrased at my cluelessness about engines.
There were calls from Boat One and Lenseman with further help as well: much appreciated gentlemen.
I hope to have an opportunity to reciprocate.
