I'm surprised at that price. Even MDL are cheaper at 85p and when you take berth holders discount into account = 76.5p. What I would like to see is MDL Hamble's price of 74p and then after discount = 66.6p. Why is the Thames always more expensive than other areas? Somebody is making good profit on marine diesel.
Hi Barry
The reason we have different prices to the Hamble is because we sell low sulphure diesel (City Diesel) Much better for engines on low tickover, less smoke and more environmentally friendly. The other stuff is heating oil.
I've already said on another post that MDL Thames sell low sulphur. Quite honestly it makes no difference to the smoke expelled. (on my boat). When a large diesel engine is operating at or near tick over all the time, it's gonna smoke!
It is possible that some marinas may sell heating oil but I think the vast majority don't. If Kyle of Lochalsh is selling heating oil at £0.559pl then I'd like some please. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
