Looking at the weather and planning my first real trip this weekend. I plan to leave Walton on the Naze tomorrow early and Sail south, up the Thames to Tower Bridge, back down the Thames to Ramsgate by Sunday. Leave the boat there for a week. Can you please recommend suitable places to stop overnight on the way. This may not be a big deal to some of you, but its going to be a BIG adventure for me. Thanks

Thereare plenty of mooring bouys at Thurrock yacht club, we stayed there one night, it is on the north bank just past Tilbury.
Queenborough is good as sailorman said. Limehouse Basin would be my preferred stop up the thames. On the way to Ramsgit,Why not go around the Swale, lovely trip round with plenty of mooring bouys, then it is an easy trip along to N4land and into Ramsgit. You need to make sure you carry the flood tide inwards to the Thames. We always leave Queenboro at -1LW. Have a good trip, wish I was going along!

Have a good trip, hope the weather holds for you.
If you are starting to venture further afield it might be a good time to invest in a pilot book, which will arm you with detailed knowledge about the possibilities along the way.

It took me ten years to escape from that island.......! And…… Queenborough is one of the least salubrious parts, although admittedly I’ve never approached it from the Swale or the Mudway…… Well, actually I tried very hard not to approach Queenborough at all……..! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
