Easy wasnt it?

But you made it 800x 600 instead of observing the forum rule of limiting it to 640 x 480

It's Eigg

Deeply sorry, Vic. I followed the advice to set the Photobucket sizing to large. There will be no repeat. You're right, it's wondrous Eigg, and the start of an interesting wee sail to Tobermory, home of the scalding shower.

Dunno why then but it managed the next size up.

I think the reasons for the rule are history anyway. It only matters to people using 800x 600 resolution or less and surely there are not many of those now. It was made a formal rule when there were problems with the forums. They seemed to be problems with practicaly all the IPC media websites anyway and now appear to have been resolved

Dan has said that size is fine, after complaints that 640- 480 were too small for some pictures.
Edit - just been and checked. Large should be 640x480. But will only take effect if selected before uploading, not afterwards.

I think it is as much to do with comfortable to read columns too, newspapers use columns because they are easier to read, reading across the whole screen is not easy.

If people really have to post a big image then it would be better to post a thumbnail image to link to it. no?

T'would be even better, if when ybw get around to new software, it automatically resizes large pics to viewable proportions, though people are getting better at not posting mega size pics these days.
