Teleflex steering wheel fitting.

A little query if I may. Perhaps this belongs in Classic....

I have a 30 plus year old tleflex steering arrangement. The shaft on which the wheel sits is NOT what i expected, ie a 3/4 inch taper.

Its starts at 1 inch, tapering to 3/4. Is this a previous standard, or have i got something really odd?

Any thoughts appreciated.

1" was morse usa std I think
youmay still be able to get a wheelto fit as a lot of wheel have a central bush anyway
