This is sad news, I thought they had an excellent reputation and had approached them this morning for a quote but received this in response ..

Tecsew Limited is now in administration and is no longer able to accept orders or respond to general enquiries.

On 16 February 2026, Jenny Poleykett and Alan Clark of Carter Clark were appointed Joint Administrators of the Company.

All matters relating to Tecsew Limited, including customer enquiries, outstanding orders, or creditor claims, should be directed to:

A bit naughty that the website is still active, with no mention of the above. Nothing in Companies House either... guess that will come

To be fair, the notice was only dated yesterday so I expect the office might be a bit busy now. The adminstrator may also decide to continue to trade?

Sad when any such business goes under, there goes years of effort, passion and dreams. As a country we need these businesses to flourish.
Suspect it has much to do with the collapse of the new boat market in the UK as a significant part of their business was doing the canvas work for the main importers.

Had a quote from them a few years ago for a new sprayhood. Was 40% more than the next highest, and slightly more than double the lowest. I had heard good things about the quality but the other suppliers also had good reputations and I didn't see the additional cost as worth it. They asked if this was the reason when I said no thanks so it's something they must have been aware of.

Nothing bad to say about them, but perhaps their address might be a clue. They were £280 over the next quote for a 15 foot boat cover. Just in the last few days I've taken delivery from a firm in the North East. Brilliant job in Hydroguard and a couple of custom tweaks were not classed as extras.
Perhaps premises property rental costs and the general South Coast extras didn't help them when it came to competition. A shame though because their products that I saw were excellent.

Well I’ve never used them but I think their products were far superior to other suppliers.

I’m surprised they could not adapt to market conditions that’s if a market even exists but I bet everyone is in the same boat.

Tecsew in Administration

I’ve seen a bit of talk online suggesting that Tecsew has already been sold or is now operating under another company, so I just wanted to clarify things.

Tecsew Ltd is currently in administration. No sale has completed and no ownership has transferred.

There are several interested parties reviewing the business and considering offers, but nothing has been finalised. Until a deal formally completes, any suggestion that the business has been sold or is trading under someone else is simply not correct.

Over the past few weeks I’ve made some introductions in good faith to help protect clients and ongoing projects during a difficult period. Those introductions were purely to support customers and should not be taken as confirmation of any completed transaction or merger.

If and when something is agreed, it will be formally announced.
I’d just ask that speculation is avoided in the meantime.

Thank you to everyone who has shown support — it’s genuinely appreciated.

Thanks for info jaybee63 -I trust however it might be worked out a solution is found so that your skills will continue to be available . As said by Tranona I’m sure the market is tough out there for many manufactures and retailers be it in marine business or more widely with the increased national insurance, business rates taxation and suchlike. I don’t make the point politically but I’m sure sales of new boats even for those lucky enough to have a few £ have become in recent years increasing remote in the current recession.

We have a few interested parties looking at options and it would be our wish that our IP that we have developed is embedded with new owners
