teak treatment kit at Lidl

. . . . it will do what it says on the tin. Probably aimed at garden furniture I guess.

In my experience of the supercheap products, it will work, to some extent, but ultimately be a bit disappointing.

Their power tools for instance, are brilliant if you consider them disposable. The second time you use them is a bonus. When they, inevitably, get dropped overboard, its no great loss.

For what its worth, I've have a 240v belt sander from Lidl which is at least 3 years old now. I have used it extensively and it has performed faultlessly. I must have gone through at least 10 belts worth of hard work and hope to get a lot more work out of it yet. Maybe I am lucky but at the price you really can't go wrong.

I recently bought one of their Dremel look alike tools and so far so good.

I myself am gearing up for the next time they sell Oilies at £40 a jacket. Not Brilliant, but certainly ok enough for summer sailing. Except for the coil zips.. Nasty.

And I think I bought some outstanding Binoculars from them a while back. There stuff is usually excellent , and excellent value for money.

No, I'm not on commission.

I bought a power scraper from Lidl a while ago. Excellent value at something like £19.95. It's great for removing antifoul.
It was exactly, and I mean exactly, the same as a Bosch one which I used to have. That one cost £60 and burnt out.

...On past experience the Lidl one will eventually burn out. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The oilies are quite good, had ours for two years and still plenty of life left in them, their tools are ok,WD 40 is 99P a tin, bins are again ok,got a splash behind the lens on saturday so need to take them to bits, ropes are ok for what i want,so most things from Lidl or Aldi are ok.
