Boat is 2002 model, new to us and we are off for a 10 day holiday this Friday. The teak cockpit soles were fitted when the boat was new.
We may not be back to the boat prior to Christmas, should we oil the teak cockpit decks when we leave the boat, letting the oil soak in while we are not there, or does this create more problems than it solves. These deck are totally protected from the weather when all covers are fitted.
The decks are currently in good condition, but are quite grey.
I know this is a controversial topic, I prefer the look of slightly oiled decks, last boat had TekDek fitted, but would not want to walk down stairs with oily feet when on the boat, this prompting the question of oiling the decks as we leave the boat.
Thoughts for and against appreciated.
