Hello,
The teak decks on my Azimut 43 are showing wear, the previous owner used a Karcher on them at least once! The visible teak edging is 8mm thick, but I am unsure whether the main planking is solid or plywood. The main concern is that the rubber strips are protruding up to 1mm above the wood and I wonder if this increases the risk of them pulling out. Perhaps careful sanding would bring the rubber down level with the teak, while removing the minimum of the wood.
Any comments would be most appreciated.

The protrusion will loosen the side adhesion of the caulking as you walk on it. The best solution is to cut the protruding caulking off with a small craft knife, razor blade, sharp chisel, etc. Then, if necessary, a very light sanding.

Wasn't there someone on here recently who did a video about cutting back protruding black stuff ?

Yes, but the technique is basically the same on all the videos. The important thing is to try not to cut into the teak. Sometimes, the caulking is a bit loose and trimming it lifts it from the groove, in which case it's necessary to remove all the loose caulking, back to firmly attached stuff, clean the groove thoroughly, prime (if appropriate) and re-caulk.
