What the...? Miss Vanilla, how did we manage that time-travel....?

And the question I have:

"Is that the crew going to the pub at Bearra, or coming back?"

The guys sitting her out to windward seem to be working well, but the afterguard look a right bunch of dossers.... lying down on the job .....especially that big girl's blouse working the runners.

Definitely a job for the boys at the Marine Investigation Branch - vessel unsuited for purpose, overloaded, and no evidence of proper victualling...a passage plan?

James Jermain would be in fits over the lack of fiddles and a full size chart table...

With images like this about, small wonder that the nice little bureaucrats in Brussels went for the Recreational Craft Directive, I ask you...

Huge marketing opportunity for Musto's !

And by the look of it, the Y Front organisation could also make a killing.

Re: bunch of drama queens

'Word spread amongst the crew that there were no more baked beans for breakfast...'

or

'It's worse than that - tcm's brought his bagpipes..'

"The new 'retro styled Bavaria comes with 27 sea berths and a modest, easily handled sailplan that will please tradtionalists. The heads, galley and chart table leave something to be desired, but this is offset by plenty of deck stowage. Windward performance is sadly lacking, but the extreme shoal draught will be seen by many as an advantage."

Re: bunch of drama queens

That's not me. I'm up top explaining the entrance to the harbour on Clare Island to Parahandy.
See what you missed? We know how to enjoy ourselves in County Mayo...

This reminds me of one of the best lines in the Asterix comics. Pirates, having made the terrible mistake of attacking the ship carrying Asterix and Obelix, float away on a raft in the same attitude as in this painting. The pirate captain's voice bubble says "We've been framed, by Jericho" (or something very close to that).

"Having turned down the offer of an AWB, the skipper 's confidence in his MAB's suitability for the passage was absolute, albeit a little short on creature comforts"
