Hi Folks

I am looking at Targa 47,s and the most popular tender seems to be Williams 285 jet rib,
i understand that the 325 will go in with the tubes partially deflated ( not ideal ) but my preference is for something
less complicated than the Williams, something with an outboard which is powerful enough to plane.
Any ideas greatly received

Cheers

I'd try and find the newest best condition Avon and over spec with a nice 2 stroke outboard which you can buy as long as your commercial which I can. Old habits die hard, I've had Avons for years.

Look at ribeye 310

My avon fell apart after two seasons, no point having hypalon tubes as it's going to live in your garage. Also avon had wooden oars which were pretty useless if you really need to use them.

Ribeye has got quite a lot of V in the hull so needs a bit more to get going but as a result makes it very seaworthy in any sea. Had mine now for 5 years and not had any bother with it, aluminium hull makes it bullet proof winching to recover or dragging up beaches. (Get wheels fitted too and you'll be able too)

hi i have a tagra 47, we have a yamaha jet ski n the garage with a rolled up honwave tender, with an high pressure inflator it takes 5 mins to inflate, two tenders in one garage?

Have you tried a Williams? - you will be surprised just how much fun they are and how well built - I have had 2 and had no problems at all.

Worth going for the 325 over the 285 as they are not a lot more money and the extra space is worth it - the new 2015 model onwards are a lot drier.

We have a Williams 325s in our T47 and love it, mainly as we do a lot of waterskiing. I know jet ribs aren't for everyone and expensive compared to Ribs and outboards, but try one first before you discount it. Obviously completely depends what you what the rib for, but for us there's no other option to get a good ski boat in this size.
Also having had an older and now a new 2015 hull, I can confirm the new hull is drier and feels an improved ride.

Thanks for the replies, looks like i need to take a closer look at the Williams. Am i right to assume the tubes need deflating to get the 325 in ?

Have checked with James Barke of BCU and he says only the 285 will fit.

James Barke....what does he know about Fairline's, he sells Princess boats
If you deflate the tubes and trim slightly the grp winch cover a 325 will go into a T47 garage. If you want any further details let me know. All works fine and with the auto inflator, softening the tubes is no big issue.
