Targa 40 Interior Lights

Mine are Dallas .As said the tiny lugs holding the spring can snap and the if you are not careful it can give you a nasty twang on your finger when removing.

I have a source in the US , but unfortunately don’t have the contact details on me at the mo .....sorry folks .I carry whole units .

Like others I have got “ cheap “ E bay LED,s to save energy and to keep the heat down .
Mixed results ......some just too white , others a bit yellow and few don’t last or seem to last .....start to flash a bit or just go dim .
Not too bothered , but the thing needs revisiting its on my to do list .

A tip to remove ..I use a tea spoon tip to prise and then lever .The back of the spoon on the head liner .
The problem with prising with just your finger s either side is that sometimes the metal edge once you get your finger tips under ( before the springs twang ) cuts your finger tips ....then it turns into a bloody mess .

The cantalupi downlighters use halogen capsule bulbs. If you find a LED bulb to fit at a sensible price which does the job, please let me know. I remember reading on here that some people with deeper pockets than mine changed the entire fittings throughout the boat.

LED bulbs are becoming much more readily available.........I cant imagine any need to change the light fittings. Unless I am mistaken yours are G4 capsule bulbs?

I too have had issues with cheap Ebay LEDs - they never last long. I think that even though they are rated for 24v, they can't cope with charging voltage of 27+ volts. I did just buy some from boatlamps.co.uk, and at £11 each bulb they are pretty expensive, but they guarantee them for 2 years and they can deal with fluctuating voltage up to 30v. I put 10 in last week and they were as bright as the 20w G4 capsule halogens. Probably now need to grit my teeth and buys the extra 30 that I need to get the whole boat done!

These are relatively new. They were previously the tower type bulb. I found similar ones to your on amazon and they are very good , decent light and actually work which can’t be said for the tower style ones ( I have had lots fail )
