Come on Julian!

You've turned into Elvis, and MainlSteam has re-incarnated as a pussy. Woz going on? At least I've reverted to my weekday status!

If that is meant as a permanent goodbye, come back as a woofy one Julian. You have done your turn passing on your knowledge in the face of the knockers - just have fun now scuttlebutting on scuttlebutt.

This will be my last post although I think the Ships Cat has the right idea so watch this space.

I thank everyone for their kind words of encouragement and it has certainly stopped me somewhat in my tracks, so I have chosen the route of mainlysteam.

Why, because I was getting bogged down with the forum and found myself coming away from the computer miserable or worried about brushing my teeth on board or allowing e-coli to live in the heads as using anything to clean them will be like pressing self destruct.

I realised I was taking the boards far too seriously and the other night I just threw a wobbly and decided I had to stop this. I sail for pleasure and relaxation. I have found by becoming to involved in certain threads, the VHF toss and should I drown or spend some dosh type threads that my enjoyment was being marred even at the weekend at the boat.

The thing that got to me most I actually started to believe some of the crap about powerboat skippers, I used to be one, friendly rivalry is one thing, but there is so much on the forum it became to much to bear.

So I have decided to come back, but much lighter and staying in happy threads which many of you seem to manage, most of scuttlebutt is non political and without agenda and that is where it should be and stay. I intend to stay away from threads the moment an official waves his cap or I am being told how I should behave on the water from some civil servant.

So toodle pip from Jools, and hello from ………….

Re: Re your come back

Excellent.. have to admit I tend to avoid the serious ranting threads and just lark (deviant form of lurking .. see <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.ybw.com/cgi-bin/forums/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=ym&Number=568836&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=31&part=>Buttmaster thread</A>) around

Jools or whatever your new nome de plume is now,
I agree this place can get all a bit too heavy sometimes and your post clearly identifies you as a Certified ButtMaster.

Re: Getting his ButtMaster

Is the DSC thread the type of pontification I need to do to get mine?

Re: Getting his ButtMaster

Now you are on dangerous ground here, ButtMasters, like OBEs, Knighthoods and membership of the RYS are offered not sought. One has to be nominated by an existing BM.

Alternatively, a suitably filled brown envelop to ButtMaster HQ will usually be rewarded
