Tank gauge

Is this the sort of thing you are after?
TANK GAUGE FRESH WATER | Midland Chandlers
They are made by Henderson and cheaper direct.
I have one for water. Always on and very accurate

Thanks Guys - 3 posts with the same product kinda gives a recommendation. Just looking at them now and thinking i'll go for the thru tank one if I go this way - add it to the drain bung. I'm running hose from the tank so the 15mm Hep type fitting wont work for me (even though its cheaper!)

haven't noticed that they opened up their system.
Not interested though as (from my 10sec look...) it looks like a NMEA2000 display would be an easier bet together with an teensy3.5 and Timo's NMEA2000 libraries

it would probably work better that way and simulating the victron data (do you really need these fancy graphics? isn't BMV enough I wonder?) in NMEA2000 sentences

HI Vas - The main thing is the inverter control can be done via the interface as the inverter would be hidden - no fancy graphics (well not very fancy) just readouts of voltage in and out, battery status, etc etc.. its basically the color control GX, but they open sourced the operating system to allow it run on the PI and Beaglebone. I believe it also deals with signalK but I know nothing about that..

I am alos looking at going lithium batteries so can get more and more info from the system especially if I go Victron Lithium. From What I have seen their systems although not cheap seem to be pretty impressive and very modular.

I also have an older plotter (C90W) that works well but I dont really like showing anything other than navigation and maybe engine data on that as its a flybridge only drive station (no downstairs station) All the VenusOS screen stuff will be down with the Switchboard in the saloon.

I'm sure im making it far too hard so will look at the NMEA options too.. In the short term i'll probably just go with the pressure based ones with the display mentioned earlier in the thread. I can always work something out longer term..

Well gauge is ordered - hopefully get to my Parents before Friday as they leave for Aus on Sunday.. Looks easy to install and the output may be useable with an arduino at a later stage.. which would be nice! I actually found the manufacturer (not hendersons) so pricing was even better!
