Managed to get out for a decent run on Saturday and the Port Tacho, both on flybridge and lower helm, is intermittently showing incorrect revs. The engine itself sounds good and steady.

I understand that the TAMD63P Tacho runs off a pulse generator, can anyone offer advice on where the connecting wires can be found? As it's an intermittent problem I want to check connections are all sound at engine end before looking elsewhere.

If both tacos on the same engine are faulty reading then it could be the sender , but if it’s only 1 it’s the taco .

Both tachos on port engine giving same fault at same time Paul.
I was checking regularly between helms for an hour on Saturday.
It looks like your diagnosis of the sender being faulty could be right.

My tachos are working but it's definitely worth posting the replacement link for others.

Hello sprocker
If the problem is faulty tacho, see my post of yesterday " Volvo Penta tacho replacement"

Both tacho's on that engine displaying the same fault so it's looking like Pauls diagnosis of a fault at the engine end is correct.
