Is the diagram telling me its 19.5psi. (Thats high i thought)

I have a working boost gauge T'd in off boost pipe.

Is that the equivalent of there test where they pressure feed the boost pipe.

Yes that's the correct area to measure boost but you can only measure true boost when under load, no good doing this in neutral out of gear .

Cheers paul. Ive had a play today.

4500rpm is my WOT

In the vid is my gauge @3500rpm getting 14psi.

This has brought my EGT temps down to 600c @4000 by raising the turbo psi.(thermo on turbine)

Up to 16psi turbo boost @4000rpm.

So am i right in saying, i could get more out of this turbo? So as long as it goes no higher then 19.5psi at WOT. This gauge is a acceptable regerence?

As i havnt got a vaccum test kit as in the manual.

Just for info, I bought a scrapper Maestro Turbo engine to refurb the block and head for my MD22. The base parts are exactly the same! Did two articles in April and May this year for PBO. Anyway, I have the turbo spare if any one wants it for a modest amount of beer tokens! It is a bit heavy to post mind you!

Update

Ive got my head around setting up the dti + vacuum pump to do it as per manual.

got some more tests to do, but for anyone who wonders the PSI

it is NOT 19.5psi on a boost gauge.

doing the vacuum test, to 19.5psi with 1mm movement. corespondents to roughly 16.5psi on a boost gauge. I shall be double checking that.
