Some adverts really do take the biscuit,

Channel Islands 22
LOA: 22'
Draft: 4'
Beam: 7' 4''
Engine: Ford Mermaid 140HP, 4 cylinder turbo.
Cruise speed: 20 knots
Accommodation: Sleeps 4

Saw this today on boats and outboards from a local broker, used to have one with the same engine, max 17kts on a good day, and that was with the right prop and clean bum. Draft is 3'3", and the beam nearer 8'6". Sleeps 2 in the cabin and 2 under the cover. Having said that it is a great little boat, had 7 years of great service from mine with not a hint of trouble from the boat or engine.

Don't some sellers talk absolute bolx, shouldn't be allowed trying to mislead people.

I think it is 'marine spin' in other words downright deception, time they locked up some of these brokers and dealers IMHO.

and there was the 22 knot princess 25 driven by volvo 140 which was for sale recently.
The P25 I had could just get to 16k on a good day downhill with the wind etc etc etc and that was with the bigger V6 engine and with no more than a pint of petrol on board.

Your right mate .
I saw an add for a dingy with outboard and on a trailer, thinking this is to good to miss. Rang the racecourse to be told oh yes it's still for sale but I have to confirm the price with the owner .........
This is a pathetic way to con people by saying we have boats for sale from 200..
Still if I ever get loads of dosh it's one yard I will not look to buy a boat from, I felt tempted to get on to trading standards but it just gets daft then

cheers
Mick
