If this is true (and it's you), we have a lot in common.
I was offered a scolarship to MIT (I come from a Jesuit background, 1 person every few years from a Jesuit school in Ireland got the offer... lucky me) when in secondary school. Unfortunately I was recovering from a broken spine and could hardly walk, nevermind focus on MIT so I passed.
Ended up studying similar in Ireland (Systems, Networks & Digital Forensics, going on after to study Business Law and still trying to finish my Digital Forensics masters... time time time!) and daily life involves same, but on a much smaller scale than you.
Sorry to hear about your spine, Alt. How are you doing these days?
MIT's a cool school. I always preferred it over Harvard, though that Harvard campus sure is something else. Especially their business school - good Lord. But if I'd do medicine, if probably try do it at Harvard. Not sure why.
You sound like a smart guy - I never got a scholarship anywhere, sadly. I was just a "good all rounder" - never actually great at anything. I always wanted to set up some scholarships to good schools for kids like I was. Problem is - it's hard to find a committee that can detect and pre-reward things like 'Grit and Resilliance and Always Wanting to Tinker With Things, and overcoming people who say it can't be done no matter how hard you try"... which are by far the traits that get you places in my experience; but I'll get around to it one day.
Hope that you'd be keen to join us in person.
Would be good to talk. Our Irish office may even be hiring if you're a capable white hat
