We are sailing form the UK to Sweden in June, but we have a dog onboard. Are there any issues with taking a dog into Sweden or Denmark? We have had no issues in France, Belgium or the Netherlands.
No issues. We took our two a few years ago. All very friendly. I seem to remember that for Finland you need proof of worming before entry but Denmark and Sweden are very dog friendly. Do you have eu pet passports?
I imagine the OP is very familiar with all the regs and requirements regarding taking a dog to EU, and returning it to UK if he has done it before.
As regards Denmark, my experience is that they do not share the UK laid back attitude to dogs. In most public spaces ,for example, your dog must be on a lead, except in designated dog areas. That includes beaches, woods, forests etc for much of the year. Plus, of course, the usual evidence of pet passports, rabies vacs, insurance for Denmark etc. Should your mutt nip someone, I think the police can put it down. That said, plenty of happy owners and dogs in Denmark, just different rules.
Not familiar with Sweden!
