Does anyone liveaboard or winter in south Cyprus? We are thinking of either going for all summer and/or wintering there. Any information at all would be greatly appreciated.

In essence there is only three places to safely keep a boat in The Republic of Cyprus.
Latchi - Small harbour / marina. To the best of my belief it is full. http://www.latchiharbour.com/
Larnaca which is full, delapidated and falling apart. There was plans to modernise but the crash of their banks put the mockers on that. http://www.cyprusyachtingmagazine.com/items.php?&lang=eng&itemID=174
Limissol - St Rapheals which is full and the new Limassol Marina which appears to have space but with very high prices. http://www.limassolmarina.com/
Paphos, is a very small harbour. It is full and very unsafe with the wind from the south.

Thank you for your replies, folk, we will have a think about it not looking great though. Crete and Malta are our other posibilities.

All works at Larnaca marina were fully and properly completed probably a year ago. New floating docks (or whatever they are called), electricity and water everywhere. There always seem to be space for visitors so worth asking.
You need to update your info.

Up-date/corection. DELTA MARINA there is only HARD standing in the winter no boats are allowed to stay in the water. The travel lift is small approx 4.5 meter wide. They will ALWAYS find room for you. No live aboards in the winter. Some live aboards in GIRNE but it is packed out and a tad scruffy.
Larnaca Marina is up and running with new floating pontoons with all facilities there is a good live aboard community both summer and winter.

Does Northern Cyprus share the same laws as Turkey: Black and Grey water holding tanks, 90 day visa or residency, Blue card scheme for pump out.
I spent two winters in Larnaca over ten years ago and it was great. Except for one 7 day local event called (if I remember) Cataclysmos. Very noisy but interesting. Empty beer tins everywhere.

The simple answer to all those questions is NO.
You can check in at Girne or Karpas Gate. They give you a piece of paper (to keep in your passport) which is a visa lasts normally 90 days. You can then cross the border to Southern Cyprus come back over the border and get a new 90 day Visa.
There is no Transit Log, no Holding Tank requirement and no Blue Card.
Only problems being (as Rivonia has stated) that Girne is full and all boats have to be out of the water during the winter, Karpas Gate is in the middle of nowhere and there is no real safe anchorages anywhere along the coast.
