Take your video camera out this weekend

Good - so the foxes kill for fun - then so can we.

Excellent arguement - now we have the same mental capacity as a fox.

They need keeping under control

So tear a few to pieces every month or so. That'll do the trick

Re: Original from Alexl

I thank you for the original, i found it just as moving reading it now as i did so many years ago when first i read it. I didnt mean to belittle the original, but prevoke a few differing thoughts, and it did to some degree. "What next?" someone said, Fishing, shooting, then there is cruelty some would say horse riding, horse racing. And when all has been halted through legislation, the do-gooders will still be looking for something to campaign against.
Then again, who gives a fig

No I'm not about to shop people for not displaying their tax disc. But if I can do anything to ensure that the barbaric treatment of these is halted then I certainly will.

Last year we were returning from a pleasant weekend's sailing - a pastime which had caused no misery or bloodshed - to find 2 hinds cornered between the hunt on one side and about 50 hunt supporters along the road. The hinds were plainly exhausted and terrified. I hope that the cessation of hunting will prevent such inhumane treatment .

Those of you who find the banning of hunting offends you would presumably like us to go back to bear-baiting & cock-fights. Liberty for all ... just not for animals ?

Sorry pragmatist, I can\'t agree with you.

No offense meant good sir, but I don't agree with the ban. Nothing to do with foxes - its a political thing for me.

How dare this government waste its time and my money on trivia, when there is so much more to sort out. I won't even begin to list the priorities that have been sidelined in favour of this piece of rubbish, prejudicial legilation.

Re: Get on the Sex Offenders Register This Weekend.

Didn´t mean to be offensive.

I have known a man taking innocent photos on the beach at Brighton be pursued by the police and very thoroughly investigated. A state of paranoia seems to reign where children and cameras are involved.

A malicious hunt supporter could but you in very serious jeapardy if you were spotted taking photos of the children attending the meet.

It was meant as serious warning but phrased too flippantly.

Re: Conspiracy theory....

[ QUOTE ]
About criminals and voting - in the USA, the Democrats are pushing for convicts in prison to be allowed to vote, since they know that the vast bulk of the criminal dregs of society would vote Democrat. The areas of our big cities with the highest density of ex-convicts vote solidly Labour, so I doubt if this lot will change the law here to ban people with criminal records from voting.

[/ QUOTE ]

There are already moves afoot to do the same in this country - it is only the fact that the average convict doesn't actually care whether he can or can't (they can see no actual benefit) that it hasn't come in quicker.

Re: Sorry pragmatist, I can\'t agree with you.

Curiously I agree with you. I'm anti hunting but feel that there are perhaps more important things to worry about.

BTW Pragmatist isn't a Sir. At least I hope not /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Re: Get on the Sex Offenders Register This Weekend.

Nonsense, Woodentop - "not be offensive" ? I don't think so. It might amuse you to know that I was once one of those little girls on ponies - so I don't think that documenting barbarism counts as pornography - do you ?

I suggest that your style might be better suited to other fora.

Re: Get on the Sex Offenders Register This Weekend.

You have my sympathy. When I divorced my ex accused my father and my new partners father (who just happened to be Senior Lecturer in Education at a teacher training college with 30-odd years of experience teaching in a primary school) of "inappropriate behaviour". Might add that my partner's father had never been the subject of any complaint and I trusted him implicitly with my 2 children, as I did my father. It's easy to throw stones.

At the time, Social Services took the ravings of a vindictive woman seriously. Time has proven them and her wrong.

Re: Original from Alexl

You may want to listen to "Yellow Triangle" by Christy Moore, the lyric of which borrows heavily from Pastor Neimoller's work.
