is it possible to temove the head of a thorneycroft t90 without using the cranked spanner shown in the handbook. ? any other tips would be gratefully received
As long as you remove the rocker shaft first, you should be able to remove the head. I understood you only needed the cranked spanner when finally torquing up the head bolts after replacing the head. I have never done this but understand that it is OK to replace the rocker shaft after replacing the head. (always used to be the way when I re-assembled engines years ago) I suppose it depends wether you are doing it in situ or on the bench.
