Yes, I assumed so, but the owners manual mentions this particular Zodiac. Its not available anymore as the Valiant anyway, so doesnt really help me regardless...

Ok, but remember the elec winch and rollers were an optional extra, they weren't standard equipment. A (very) quick google suggests that the Zodiac C285s is/was a flat-bottomed dinghy, so maybe this is what they recommended if you didn't go for the optional dinghy recovery kit and, by implication, the Valiant dinghy.

PS that link I posted before does seem to suggest that you can still buy the Valiant

Makes sense. The list in the manual seems to cover many circumstances, optional or not.

Yes, got the link, but its very pricey new. Always an option down the line, but for now I will keep my eyes focused on second hand options if anything comes up.
