I noticed Squeaky's question re 1st hand experience of Symi now not being a port of entry in the Bozburun thread. Has anyone had any experience of this rather than just having heard the story?

When entering Greece from outside the Schengen zone, it's no longer necessary to use a port of entry. Instead, you should notify the Port Police, and complete a crew list. Symi has a port police office.
