SWMBO has REALLY hurt me :-(

I get the result of the review tonight, I had to agree that perhaps there was a couple of unnecessary things on there, but I can't be the only one who didn't know the scale of what was on their boat. I think a lot of it has been to do with her view of safety kit compared to mine, but I would rather have a bit too much than not enough!

It seems that I will have to take a slight reduction on the chin as she has done a financial forecast for 2006/7 already and cannot justify my expenditure continuing as we now have most equipment required, I must admit I could not believe how much I had spent in Chandlery's /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Perhaps thows throwing stones had better take a look in their bilges, nookes and crannies YOU could be next for a swmbo review /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Lesson learnt and I have eaten a load of humble pie, I may even open a Boaters charity shop and run it in the spare time I will have when I am not in Chadlery shops /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Sorry Pete, I come late to this tragedy, as some people where actually doing some proper boating this weekend.

I think you really need to reappraise your inventory. You need to categarorise it into Essential, non Essential, Luxury and comfort.

Obviously all the life saving stuff can be put into the Luxury category. Electric Blankets, juicers etc can be in the Comfort category. Non essentials will include the ioniser and the Essential list will obviously include icemaker, towable toys etc.

So, I would get rid of all the Luxury stuff. I mean, how often do you actually inflate your life vests, use the throwing line or send out a distress message on your EPIRB? So, I think you can chuck it all and buy some more when you actually need it.

The Comfort stuff is, well, for your comfort and boating is not fun when you are cold, wet and hungry, unless you are a raggie - who get enjoyment out of being uncomfortable.

You will need the essential stuff, so leave that, but the non essential list can probably raise a few pounds at a boot sale.

Of course, you also have the option to upgrade to a much younger model.

Hope this is of some use.

Not saying your boat is heavily loaded or anything....................

It's the only boat I have seen with the antifouling painted up to the base of the windscreen!!

Having read this thread at various times as it grew, I don't honestly know if I've missed a post or two, or not......

BUT, it appears to me that no man has been brave enough to suggest you strike back.

All you have to do is go through her wardrobe, hanger by hanger, and ask her when the last time she wore what ever you find. If it hasn't been worn for ages, ask why not! Same with the shoes...... and handbags.... and jewellry...... and.... and.... and.....................

I'm sure you'll find enough to start your own market stall, which will be handy for after the divorce. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Fight back? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif what is the worse thing that could happen whilst waiting for her to arrive with the FULL report? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Shall I tell you? She has just filled up her Mercedes with Petrol and guess what it is Diesel /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif She is going MENTAL and I had NOTHING to do with it, do I start drinking heavily now or wait? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

My whole boating hobby depends on the monthly figure I get, and it is not looking good becuase she found I had accidently billed her for some meals in the Italian in Poole when she was in SoF /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Not only that but she is now hammering around the M25 in a courtesy Smart car from St Albans to get me because she found the night vision equipment hidden under my pillow /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif, this is it, I may as well not feel the pain, I'm opening the Scotch NOW /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

As for clothes and stuff she is very frugal and doesn't buy Chav stuff or waste money, she is simple and a bit of a tight arse, that's why I am in fear, I am being blamed for having too much unnecessary gear and wasting her money, but if it wasn't for me who would drive the boat for her? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

My situation is definately NOT funny, but what is, is the way the 'old boys' and their hangers on are at it again with their sniping and poisonous comments, the forum is a lot better without that nonsense, live and let live, don't be bitter and twisted and a stirrer, we all had enough of that before /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Just one thing, you are not a Fresher over there who has recently been to a Football match are you? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I wasn't suggesting for one minute that he had listed everything to be found on the boat - only that what was listed had been on the boat(s) at some time!
Not sure I saw 'chairs and table' anywhere on the list but...............

flybridge.jpg

would seem to suggest they are hidden somewhere onboard!
If I remember correctly, and the hint of Blue Angel suggests I do, this was an exercise prompted by Col on the basis of 'who needs a flybridge?'

Last time I saw him, he had a bike onboard and was trying to cycle around the cockpit.
Unfortunately, no camera to hand......
