Thought I'd pass this on - it might answers concerns for some of us:
Suddenly Alone - a training day for those who worry that due to accident or illness they might suddenly find themselves in charge of a boat. A one day course will be run by the East Anglian Sailing School at the HQ of the Cruising Association, Limehouse, London, on 2nd Feb.
Topics covered:
How to get help, including flares, Epirb, VHF
Why someone might go overboard, reducing risk, procedures for getting back to them and getting them back.
First Aid. Basic care, checking pulse and respiration, resuscitation, avoiding hypothermia
Basic engine teach-in.
£30 for CA members, £40 for non-members
