SWMBO's problems are MY problems.

SWMBO's welfare generally is MY problem.

No time left for MY own welfare, needs and problems.

SWMBO's best moments are shared with our friends and family. I end up just being the therapist.

And more good reasons no doubt.

So you end up doing whatever it takes for a quiet life... and suddenly life's getting on and you realise you're not doing it for yourself any more, but just for a quiet life - and they grab every opportunity this yields - and you end up yielding even more - until you're a shadow of your former self and you start thinking that maybe sex, companionship, children and an easier life are nothing in comparison to actually living a life of your own choosing.
