Can anyone help with the following?

1) The 'on' indicator for the side power joystick fails to light. Can the lamp be replaced or do I need a new unit?

2] The chart reading light isn't working and looks a bit tired. Chances of ever using it are slim but anyone recognise it so that I can keep an eye out for a replacement?

3) One of the engine master switch lights fails to illuminate can the bulb replaced be replaced or do I need a new switch?

4) The shore power master switch on the Transom has been damaged by the sun does anyone recognise the switch? I suspect it's a standard Carling rubberised switch?

1. iirc you'll need to replace the assembly, have you spoken to Osmotech to confirm?
3. try taking the switch out to have a look? Might be a bulb, might be an led, might just be a wiring issue
4. again, have you tried taking the panel off to have a look? I'd expect the breaker itself to be a Techna, not Carling

Hi Jimmy, thanks.

1) I'll speak to Osmotech and see what they say.

3) I'll remove it and check wiring.

4) it's actually working but just unsightly. I'll investigate Techna. Do you think Axon would have supplied 3) and 4) originally?

The slackers answer;
1) pretty sure it's an led with some electronics so new unit I'm afraid or forget about it
2) you will never ever use it so forget about it
3) will you ever power of the engines in the dark? Probably no so forget about it
4) no idea who makes it but probably worth replacing if the flexible cover has split. If it hasn't split wait until it does. Until then forget about it.

Unfortunately, it failed to work even when it was back in the drink. I suppose the surveyor has an excuse for not spotting the issue :).

Anyhow, the syringe I ordered arrived yesterday and 71ml looks a lot more liquid than was in the bottom of the fitting so I hope that is the issue. In that case I'll have fixed the leaking pipe, the sliding door and the depth gauge all for under a tenner! Happy days!

3) the switches are actually in a really dumb place, directly behind the helsmans thigh so a liable to get knocked and switched off. But I get your point, slacking is good!

The reading light is made by Hella. Amazingly still for sale and available from a certain online auction site for £27. I'll investigate how easy it will be to fit it.
You beated me with your searches.
I was going to mention after reading your OP, because I had the very same bit of kit in my old lady.
Anyway, FWIW, I believe I turned it on just once, back at the end of 2000, when I bought the boat...
Not the most critical component in a boat, to put it mildly! :p

Good point on the engine switches, friend had t34 and accidentally knocked on of the engine switches off whilst going along. Limped home on one engine, got engineer out etc. We made a modified plastic box to cover them in the end to stop it happening by accident.

Snap, did the same on our maiden voyage on our T34 which involved a) mild panic that we something drastic had gone wrong on our newly acquired boat when starboard engine, then power steering cut out in moderate seas; then b) some head scratching when all seemed fine until we switched these off and on again; then c) relief that it was in fact just the power switch! - very poor design by Fairline to place these switches just behind your left leg when stood at the helm.
