Hi again,
as I had no reply from anyone, I am re posting my question with the hope to get a reply this time.
Wondering if anybody knows if its possible to turn a Volvo D6 370 hp attached to a DPH sterndrive, over to an inboard application using a ZF 85 IV electronically controlled transmission? I was told that this cant be done as the ECU software of the engine cant be reconfigured.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Of course it can be done, because the long blocks are the same.
But if you add up the costs of ECU components, cooling system components, steering components, etc. it's going to add up to many thousands of pounds.
Consider trying to sell the D6-370 powertrain DP-H as a complete unit, and buy a shaftdrive one?

If you already have the stern drive set up then you don’t have to use the electronic gearbox , you could use a manual shift box by using the stern drive shift actuators .

What do you actually have aquired ?

Thank you Paul for your information.
I bought the engine as a package together with the DPH drive +actuator+ etc.
So if I understood well, I should replace the electronic gearbox valve with a manual and still use the actuator.
And what about the drives alarms, or any other alarms connected to the drive, how do I deactivate them?

Thanks Flower Power, you made my day.
Easier said than done.
Perhaps I should follow Pauls advise to change the electronic valve to a manual and use the actuator, (if I understood correctly).
Rgs Mario.

The other option would be to sell the DP-H drive and use some of the money to buy the right parts.
There’s second hand market for ECUs as well.

Hello Paul,
I could really do with your help regarding the D6 swapping to shaft drive .
Nobody on this side seems to know how to do this, so if you could help me in this I would very much appreciate it.
Regards Mario
