Hi - I have a Volvo TAMD40B engine that might be kaput. I may have an opportunity to buy a TAMD41. Does anyone know if they are a straight swap, mechanically and electrically? If not, what mods would I have to make?

thanks

Volvo Paul your best bet ? on this but apart from the increased power output and the ancillaries required to produce it, would suggest that weight/ overall dimensions and other bits ie. engine mounts would be very much the same ?

thanks very much, it looks like the first picture, VP. We are going to try to rebuild the engine, as the block is still good. Do you know of any sources for parts? Particularly 1542140 pre. combustion chamber and 3581063 connecting rod? We have found some but they are way expensive.

The folk on this Forum will be familiar with suppliers in Britain - however Steve is in Michigan, in the USA.
Even so, if the parts that you found in the USA are very expensive, then it might still be worthwhile contacting a Volvo parts supplier in Britain and / or Europe, to see what they can come up with?

Thanks - but although I am in the US I have a mate in southern England that is also looking for me and can send me parts. So any parts available in the UK (or nearby) would work.
