Swap Boats For A Weekend

Would it work if two people with similar size boats wanted to swap for the weekend just for a change in scenery, Im based in Poole harbour and I would like to see more around Salcome area, obviously insurance would be an issue and the two parties would have to prove a degree of qualification and experience but what do you think. The obvious is why don’t I just take the boat down there but every time I book a holiday the weather is force 8.

some of my friends have fantastic holidays by swopping houses for a short period - there are several websites devoted to this - sounds like a great idea to me.

Camera swapping is good aswell if sailing in company cuz we never used to get pics of our boat.

Why not ask another (suitably qualified) boatowner to deliver it for you? Give him enough time to find a suitable weather window and your boat can be where you want.
Have done this many times, including car swop, in Ramsgate (for Holland), Le Havre (for Normandy), Falmouth (for Scillies) and Lorient (for South Brittany). No finance involved of course.
