Swanick Boat Show

We'll be around. The last two have been really good. Nice and relaxed atmosphere. Add in some sunshine and it's a perfect way to spend the weekend.

As we're berthed in the marina, we aim to be onboard all weekend, soaking up the atmosphere and dreaming over a few boats. Hopefully see a few familiar faces about.

We will be there providing some extra entertainment along B pontoon. OB's new owner has her berthed there pending his move to Eastbourne, so bumps and grinds on Saturday morning.

We haven't made it there before so it is on the wall calendar and dog sitter is booked for Sunday, really looking forward to it actually.

Is parking clear and easy ? Take sandwiches or is there ok on site food etc ? any other info for a 1st timer?

Thanks,

Andy

Parking is normally OK, unless it gets exceptionally busy. Pubs just outside the Marina - The Old Ship and The Navigator, or just along and through the yard to the Jolly Sailor. The Boathouse on site, but it has been getting quite a slating of late.

There are other venues along the river. Best view of the river is The Waters Edge at Mercury Marina, turn left into Satchell Lane as you leave the Hound Roundabout approaching Hamble. Hamble Point are also having a show, and they have the Ketch Rigger.

Andrew, they now have fob gated access for berth holders to D & E pontoons and don't know if that'll be open this weekend for visitors but if not, there's usually plenty of parking on site but try to get there early as it does get busy.
No need to bring food as there are plenty of options as Trevor says.
It really is a very informal and relaxed affair, last year (iirc) they had live music which was a nice touch.

Shhh, but got myself a fob and parking permit whilst I baby sit OB for the new owner !

I went last year and really enjoyed it. A nice small show where the staff were really chatty and friendly. Planning to go again this Sunday. Wished the portofino 40 was going to be there but alas, not this year

Isn't that a Portofino 40 on permanent display just in the entrance to Swanwick? Been there two years now I think.

They moved it from the front yesterday round to the travel hoist, I assumed to launch it ready for the show? Would be amazed if there wasn't one at the show to view.
