Won't name put there is one who is ****.....won't name and shame but pm me if you want to know.

The one that surveyed my previous boat may have been the same one Csail mentions. I can't remember his name but if I can I will name him. He missed some damage which I had already told the purchaser about, which was obvious. He also left early and said he had returned to finish the survey, without knowing I stayed all day and slept on the boat that night.
He was quite a young guy who drove a small 4X4.

No this guy was old and missed loads of bits on my boat. I know every bit wrong but requred a survey. then asked him for the papers and he refused saying the buyer had the rights to them.Think he said i could buy the survey for something like 200 quid.....how much are four A4 sheets and a bit of ink!!!!!

These guys must have been members of some surveyors association. Did you log a complaint with them? We have to trust surveyors, and this really sounds of some concern!

This is a genuine request for information. I don't have a yacht (yet) but am keen in getting in touch with a reputible person who can conduct a survey on a steel hulled 35 ft yacht in the South Wales area.

No hidden agenda or other such devious moves behind this - hopefully that puts all at ease?

Regards
Paul

I have had some bad experiences with surveyors over the years . I now have found a guy who is good . I use him when requred . The last survey he done for me was a cat. He has carried out three surveys for me over the years. I would recommend him every time . International Yacht Surveys.:)

It sounds like the same guy who surveyed a mates centaur a few years back at Barry, he "missed" the water coming in from one of the bilge keel bolts that cost a lot to rectify once the boat had been sold, common problem with centaurs apparently.no luck later through the courts,

Spotted this thread from a few weeks back, and i am also looking for a reputable surveyor for a boat in the same yard, a moody 31.
Would you mind letting me know whom the bad surveyors are and any good ones.
