I have been notified by my insurers (St Margarets) that the time has come to have a survey on my 1978 Dufour 12000 CT ketch else I won't be insured. Has anyone any ideas or had a survey done in Lefkas, Greece (that's near Preveza airport to those who don't know). I will be hauling out in next week or two and have until May1st 2003 to do the deed. Greek/British/Approx. cost/pitfalls etc would be appreciated.

PS: Incidentally anyone know where information on this boat might be found as even Dufour have no "paperwork" aymore and I have typed the name of the boat into every search engine known to man?

I had my boat surveyed in Corfu by Spiros Courtelessis. He's based in Corfu town and his phone number (you'll have to look up the std code) is 44180. It was a full survey prior to me buying the boat and it cost about £200. I'm sure that he would fit in a survey for you when he visits the mainland. He's very amiable and is known to St. Margarets.

If you are in the new marina at Lefkas then could you give me their telephone number as I am thinking of returning to the area next year.

Best regards,

Thank you all for advice. This is very helpful and kind of you all to reply. With regard to the Lefkas Marina contact:
Lefkas Marina S.A. 31 100 Lefkas Island Te: 00 3 06450 26645, email: marinaLe@otenet.gr.
Very pleasant people.
Funny story: I went to their office and passed a Russian girl with a very revealing dress on - a case of what a nice dress you are almost NOT wearing. By the time I got the office I was in dreamland. I left my papers and a calculator behind but 2 weeks later (after cruising the area) I returned and they had everything waiting for me. Of course I promptly fell in love (again) with the girl at Lefkas Marina office for bing so kind. No guesses where I am leaving my yacht for the winter - and the survey. Kalinka for those in the know is of course Russian. I wonder if we will meet again? This is what I love about sailing. Back to reality. When I "recover" from dream land I will respond to others. Thanks again.

Many thanks
