Sunseeker Sold

Mapish s post are the numbers I quoted .
Buy 160 rtn 15 ( median of the 10-20; ) is near as dam it for illustration a 10% rtn .

When you buy and run or in some cases , attempt to run a boat business who cares what the seller paid .You ought to know 😀.

It’s a very strong brand .Can’t see these two new owners rinse + repeating at Poole .
Apples and oranges, perhaps? I think that earnings figure might be before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation. In Sunny’s accounts those numbers might easily make one’s eyes water.

I don't think so. I'm afraid you're using "my" numbers (which I just relayed BTW, but that's irrelevant) in a wrong way.
It would be a 10% return if the business value would increase to 176 in one year time, 194 in 2 years, 213 in 3, and so on.
Which is a wholly different perspective altogether.

Not saying it's impossible, mind. But I should know much more than I do (and care about!) before even trying to make such evaluation.
Let alone spouting recipes on what Galeone & C. should now do, also because, having met him, I can assure you (to paraphrase the Admiral in The Hunt for Red October) that he wouldn't take a dump without a plan.
So, time will tell, I guess.

But just by gut feeling, I'd rather be the one who walks away from this transaction with 160m in my pocket, rather than with the challenge to make what I just envisaged actually happen in real world.

Portofino giving lessons in business investment - there is literally nothing he is not an expert on. 😃

I'm sure once JFM has gratefully absorbed this information, he'll be keen to understand why he should have bought an Itama instead. 🙂

Whilst we know JFM is the forums authority on the legalities of life , does not mean he is a a member of the FCA. Now me , I am glad the minimum wage has gone . Why are you asking me , I know nothing.

A usual crossed purposes post :) Let's leave it there.

Must say, I can see plenty of rinsing and repeating ahead, but I hope I'm wrong :)

On an another note LVMH, is interested in buying Ferretti Group for as yet an un reported sum.
Ferretti Group current majority owners are Shandong Heavy Industries who currently own 37% (at purchase they owned 58%) and Piero Ferrari who owns 18%.
According to rumours this purchase was pushed by Bernard Arnault who actually was interested in purchasing RIVA alone.

Perhaps - some people do not want to buy boats from "global financial investment companies" ... It's not just the money - it's also your feelings and your soul for the company and the tradition of the shipbuilder / shipyard.

Some info:
Motorboat
Megayacht
Boat International
That's an interesting theory, but I really can't see it.

'Yes darling, it's the perfect boat for us, the layout is ideal, the price is good, I like the brand image and the quality is amazing. Definitely the best boat on the market for our needs'.

'Oh, wait, the builder is owned by a global financial investment company, better cancel the order and buy something less suitable instead'.

Feels unlikely... 🙂

Probably ok timing if there is the potential for Russian customers to come back on stream (legitimately) and things turn around in China.
