Sunsail cancelled our holiday

Where do you get your info, and even more to the point where do you get a free visa? Mine always costs £10.

Well that serves you right for bring British. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

You make it difficult for them to come here they make it cost for you to go over there. Bureaucratic tit for tat. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Me on the other hand - I get in for free on my Irish passport. I still need the visa they just don’t charge me for it. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Am I being cynical in not believing this? I know when we had holidays in Turkey with Sunsail over 10 years ago ( 3 in a row, at Yedi Tepe) that exactly the same staff % was a requirement and that situation was managed Ok then?

From the responsible travel thingy above

Not on their boats I hope

The other minor issue with Sunsail at the moment is that loads of their head office staff have recently been made redundant from Port Solent.

Probably not an issue right at the moment, but it will be very interesting to see how they cope as the season hots up!

I think Sunsail are taking the piss frankly, they insisted on having both email and phone number contact details for us and then when it goes wrong they send out a crappy letter and trigger a stampede as everyone tries to rebook. Tried to get through again today on the number given and failed, also called other numbers and was promised a call back but still nothing. I feel I am being lied to and I just want a refund!!!

Don't be too hard on whoever you do get through to: it's a big office, lots of empty desks: they haven't been there long, and their in-tray is probably teetering towards the ceiling...

Sunsail offers a unique product which relies heavily on the use of specialist staff, for example instructors who hold RYA qualifications.

[/ QUOTE ] Errrm. Not exactly unique. I seem to remember that Sunsail copied the Neilson model of using RYA qualified instructors. Yet Neilson are still operating two centres in Turkey . . . Ahhh. That's why Sunsail are unique.

Anyone seeking an alternative, Neilson are still operating in Turkey, at Ortakent (very near Sunsail Javelin) and their new one Teos near Izmir. They don't have day yachts but otherise similar and personally i prefer Neilson.

You could always try Wildind in Vassiliki - they use Club Vass kit for windsurfing and have catamaran and dinghy holidays. From what I have heard they have a great reputation

Interesting array of new users...all with links...

I think the good folk of this forum will be able to research their own holidays.

However if you are genuine and have simply come on here to share your personal experience and are no way related to either of the two resorts / companies suggested then thank you.

Hi,
finally managed to get through on the phone and request a refund, no rebooked to go to Turkey with Neilson
