Sunsail cancelled our holiday

whatever the reason - you'd think that the turkish authorities would take a pragamtic view in the current climate. Tourism is just about the only thing going for turkey at the moment, and this seems like a dumb think to do. Not sure why TUI / Sunsail would want to keep the turkish authorities sweet - would have thought the turks should be sucking up to TUI - after all its them who are bringing in the business.
I was planning to go to club phokia - bugger. I guess Vounaki will now be fully booked, and I'm not putting the kids on a 10 hour TUI flight to the caribean, so will prob look elsewhere.
Shame as we had a top quality holiday with sunsail last year.
Anyone got any ideas for similar? Nielson stuff looks reasonable. Not impressed with Mark Warners offerings.

If Sunsail are in trouble God help the smaller operators.

I think the smaller operators will do just fine as they offer far better service and value for money and that is what people are looking for in the present climate.

used to work for Sunsail

I used to work for these guys and I was there during all of this. It basically came down to money - there accomodation and specific clubs were losing them money so they wanted to find an excuse to remove themselves from specific clubs and then relocate to more financially viable alternatives. This is exactly what they have done and from what I know you are safe booking boating hols with Sunsail.
