Sunken boat project.

I've done a fag packet calculation and I'll need about £250 of wire and maybe £250 for switches.

I'll be doing a running total of costs as I go.

Please remember to tell me when I go into "man maths" territory

Since reading this thread, my Facebook feed keeps popping up with a Solent boat breakers page. Very sad some of the stuff that seems to be passing through their hands at the moment.

It is sad to see.

But boating is full of dreams and it's human nature to keep thinking a boat is salvageable when it passed that point 10 years ago. (And you've been paying storage fees the whole time)...

In fact there are boats on the hard standing at my boatyard that haven't moved for 12 years....

Thats a TransOcean 37. Based on a hull moulded by Aquafibre. Topsides designed by Herbert Woods best known for his boat hire company on the Broads, no more than a hand full contructed. You could buy one as kit and finish it off yourself.
One ended up in Australia.
The one I had was purchased as a kit in 1973 and not completed until around 2000. Came with all the invoices, the self build cost well over twice the cost of a completed boat outright ready to go.
Looking at the bow of the boat could be the actual one delivered to the SBC.
The Broom hull it was based on, rolled like a pig in any beam sea and was decidedly wayward with any quartering sea on the stern.
The next boat was a Princess 35, that hull, a transformation regards stability and ride comfort.
