Sunken boat project.

About 20 + years ago was looking to replace a Princess 33 and a constant battle to keep oil and water seperate in pair of outdrives.
A bit of fixer upper was acceptable, being by now, an expert at keeping my boat capable of moving under its own steam, for much of the time.
Came across a Broom lying in a boat yard that been put ashore with a view to restoration.
It had shafts. (y)
Spoke to the owner of the yard , he said it has been there for while but was definately not for sale, engines had been removed and were lying under the boat.
A few years later actually bought a house opposite the yard and sure enough the boat was still there but now with most of the canvas covers rotted away.
Last year the boat yard was sold to a local commercial marine company, who promptly cleared the site of half a dozen old wrecks restoration projects , the Broom had gone, cut up and gone to wherever all those restoration projects go.

Do rather miss listening to the rotting canvas flapping away on stormy winter nights.
A really early post on this forum was a enquiry as if anybody could indentify what boat it was from a photo. :)

I had a varne 25 sailing boat that developed a trickle through the sterngland. It didnt sink but the water came up to ankle high in the saloon and the very bottom of the sump of the 1gm10.
Great i thought. Pump out, fix the stern gland, dry her out and jobs a good un.
However...

Water had just gone above main switches and had capilliaried through all wiring.

Complete re wire. Alternator and starter fubared.

Was never the same again.
