I went to Eurospars for a part for my Hanse. I cannot for the life of me recall the make of my mast (french) but they stock the parts for it
Eurospars have been really helpful but unfortunately the parts are just too old. I have the option to completely replace the boom at circa £1500 or risk the welding option. I have the gooseneck off the boom now so will take back to the UK and see if anybody can weld it.

This is called a gooseneck fitting in the UK. Mast and rigging suppliers can usually find a spare part. Welding not a good idea unless you cannot get the correct part. In the UK I'd contact Home but i have no idea where you are.
Thank you jwilson. I will contact them. I'm back in the UK next week. I don't really like the thought of the welded option.

No one has mentioned the cause of the cracks (as I can see). Looks to me like the cheeks have been forced apart to create the problem. Is there a lot of wear on the bushing attachment that has allowed the fitting to move excessively and cause the problem. No point in just fitting / repairing this if the root of the problem is not addressed at the same time. Maybe be old age that has contributed but some thing has "forced" those cheeks apart.
