Sump oil contaminated with diesel.

It's head off time! But you knew that already.

That's a concept that scares the willies out of me. I'm sure there are grizzled veterans of the spannering world to who its something to do on a Friday afternoon between the lunchtime pint and the knocking off pint but I'd want one of them (metaphorically) holding my hand through the process.
 
Despite the claims of the professionals -it really isn't rocket science - particularly not the dismantling.

Perhaps if you took the head off yourself and isolated the problem, you could get some help to put it all back together.
 
sorry to add to your misery but sounds like either the injection pump is leaking diesel into the crank case or you could have a headgasket problem. Its a lot of diesel in a short time to get into the oil, both the enclosed would give you poor combustion and smoke as described. Dont think timing would be on my list of things to check.
